The terresterial television signal usually can be received by the wire antenna which made of aluminum pipes. The wire antenna have the weaknesses on lack of bend or broken elements especially on assembly phase or fallen because of strong wind. The application of microstrip technology on the antenna has become a solution on the development of television antenna systems. Microstrip antenna has the advantages i.e. simple form, easily fabricated, smaller size, light weight, can be designed for broadband and easily integrate with integrated microwave circuits. Rectangular microstrip patch antenna has a weakness on its low gain. For relatively weak television signal reception requires the antenna with higher gain. This research has the objective on designing high gain microstrip antenna for the reception of terrestrial television broadcasts with stacking patches. The design is initially started by using the antenna design software to obtain optimal results prior to the fabrication process to get the prototype antenna.
